A Chalet Holiday…Powder Dreams…Perfect Pistes
Our chalet holiday season starts early and finishes late in Oz and Alpe d’Huez. You can often ski at the weekend in November.

Contact us if you want to come. Its good to get an early fix and the slopes are empty! Late season skiing is excellent in Alpe d’Huez too, especially in our North facing Oz-Vaujany sector.
Christmas and New Year

Outside its cold, crisp and exciting but inside Le Château d’Oz its all warmth, relaxation and comfort; a perfect chalet holiday. New Year and January is the time of big snowfalls followed by crisp, clear days. The snow as light as powder, sensational steeps and deeps are everywhere. Prices in January are low too, check here for your dates.
Super Springtime Skiing

February is all about perfect pistes and sunshine; school holidays and family fun. Contact us directly for school holiday prices and availability. In March the season quietens down; its just the perfect time for child-free chalet ski holidays. April and Easter, when most resorts are closing, we still have great spring snow. The best part of spring skiing? Get up late and finish early!
Classic Chalet Holiday

We focus on your comfort; start the day with a big breakfast buffet, with fresh-baked bread and croissants, followed by bacon and eggs. After a day on the slopes you will come back to homemade cakes. Relax in your suite, just make yourself at home or in the lounge. Still have energy to burn? Challenge someone to a game of table tennis or table football in the games room.
The personal touch
We are always around to answer your questions and make arrangements. We live here and know the area well. Alpe d’Huez is great for getting skiers of different standards together for lunch if you are skiing with a mixed ability group or even non-skiers. If you want lessons we’ll help set you up with the right instructors.
A Château in the Alps?

Yes, absolutely, you can have a chalet holiday in a Château. Le Château d’Oz is a large country house (château) with a big garden and private parking in Oz en Oisans. The traditional arched-style lounge has comfortable sofas and chairs and a library. A large HDTV is available for watching DVDs or BluRay and UK SKY TV. You can also plug in your own devices to replay your days adventures.
All about Alpe d’Huez and Oz en Oisans
Oz en Oisans is one of the seven villages of the huge Grand Rousses ski area, better known as Alpe d’Huez. The Oz-Vaujany sector is an huge part of the domaine and has some of the best skiing for all levels. The area is known as The Island in the Sun and during much of the winter seems to float dramaticaly above the clouds trapped down in the valley. Click here for a piste map.
Big ski area, fast lifts, most skiing above 1800m
This is one of the biggest, highest ski resorts in France; 250km of pistes with a snow-sure and sunny aspect. There are runs for all abilities and access from Oz is quick and easy via high speed gondolas. Queuing is rare, even at peak times, anywhere in the resort. Ski shops and ticket office are close to each other. We often ski with our guests and can show you some of our favourite places.
The greatest vertical descent on piste is in Oz
Start at Pic Blanc, 3330m, and ski directly to l’Enversin d’Oz, 1125m, and descend 2205m, the greatest vertical difference in any ski resort in the world. You can also ski another four runs in the resort of 2000m vertical; in a single day you can ski a masssive 10000m vertical, the height of Mount Everest.
Not skiing
There are lots of walking paths on the mountain and the lifts are designed so that pedestrians can get right up to the top of the mountain and see what usually only good skiers see.
Food
We serve tasty, well-cooked meals with generous portions. Some drinks are included in the price; we also have a special drinks list.
We believe everyone should eat well on a Chalet Holiday whether Vegetarian, Wheat, Gluten-free or have a special diet due to an allergy. If you are taking the whole chalet then we can tailor-make the entire week’s menu for you.
